Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) consultation

Good morning Resident,

I have received an email from Sevenoaks district council relating to the cabinet meeting that took place last night in relation to the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) consultation. Stage 1 has been agreed !

A PSPO is an additional tool that gives the Police and Council Officers powers to help reduce specific anti-social behaviours. It also allows officers to issue a warning, or a fixed penalty notice for anti-social behaviour carried out by individuals. The PSPO is enforced under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

The 6 week consultation opened today and will finish on 27 March, this is so it is in time with going through the next committee process. Please find below consultation link below, it is important residents take the time to complete and share your views.

The timeline for the proposal is

Consultation Ends                                                                         27 March 2026

People & Places Advisory Committe (consultation results)       19 May 2026

Cabinet (consultation results)                                                       16 June 2026

If agreed at Cabinet on 16 June that the PSPO is to be implemented this will happen in July 2026
